Matthieu Jamet (born 1972) is a CEA Research Director. He was the head of the Nanostructures and Magnetism lab at the CEA Grenoble from 2007 to 2015. He recently moved to Spintec to develop and supervise the “2D spintronics” team. He is an expert of group-IV magnetic semiconductors and semiconductor spintronics. In 2014, he started developing the van der Waals epitaxy of transition metal dichalcogenides (MX2, M: transition metal and X: S, Se, Te) on various substrates using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). He is now coordinator or partner of several projects to develop ferromagnetic 2D materials and grow [2D ferromagnet/MX2] heterostructures by van der Waals epitaxy to study proximity effects. He is currently coordinating the development of a MBE cluster connecting three machines under ultrahigh vacuum to grow 2D materials and their vdW heterostructures.
