COVID-19 Guidance

Attending an event: What to expect
We are conducting all our events with appropriate controls in an effort to keep everyone safe and to do what we can to minimise the risk of COVID-19 infection to our visitors and staff. The revised guidance under which we will operate events is set out below.

Before and when you arrive at our event
Anyone attending one of our events is encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless they are unable to be vaccinated) and we ask that you have a negative lateral flow test before attending. Please do not attend if you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms as per the NHS website – our priority is to keep everyone safe.

During the event
Everyone at our events will need to follow staff guidance and should maintain one metre social distancing where possible. Facemasks are not mandatory although we recommend, they are worn in indoor spaces where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet. This is however a personal choice. Masks will be available at the registration desk and we will also have hand sanitiser available.

Health and Safety

If the alarm sounds during the conference (and you haven't been informed of a test), please evacuate the building through the nearest exit and assemble at the fire point in the front of the building.

Should anyone fall ill or injure themselves during the conference and need medical assistance, please speak to the IOP staff on the registration desk or a member of the venue staff. A trained first aider will assist.

Joining Virtually

For those joining us online, the talks will be streamed via Zoom Meetings and the links will be sent to you via email. You will also be able to access the virtual exhibition and poster gallery via On-Air. Please look out for an email with your personal link.
