The Compound Semiconductor Applications (CSA) Catapult is a not-for-profit RTO which provides translational research facilities to accelerate the commercialisation of compound semiconductor technologies and  key application areas including healthcare, the digital economy, energy, transport, defence and security, and space. The CSA has a position across the supply chain with connections across an extensive but highly disaggregated supply chain enabling UK capability to be bought together in a coherent and value-added way to solve system integration problems. The Photonics section offers companies access to a range of services to assist with device and application development. Its integrated approach supports the whole design lifecycle from optical system and optoelectronic design through to packaging, test and characterisation, and qualification testing for harsh environments. It also offers the development of high reliability optical systems whilst ensuring a design for manufacture and scalability.
