Filippo is a theoretical condensed matter physicist. During his career, he investigated the behaviour of quantum many-body systems in a variety of setups, ranging from solid-state devices (quantum dots, quantum wires, spin-orbit coupled materials) to atomic settings (Rydberg atoms and ions), exploring both their equilibrium and out-of-equilibrium regimes. Recently, his curiosity has been triggered by the far-reaching possibilities offered by quantum simulators and NISQ computers in providing a better understanding of the emergent properties of correlated quantum systems. Filippo completed his PhD in Physics in 2018, working in the Quantum Transport and Nanodevices Group of the University of Genova (Italy). Before joining Phasecraft in 2021, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Condensed Matter Theory Group of the University of Nottingham (UK).
