Guidance for Oral Presentations 


The programme is subject to change leading up to the event, so please be sure to check the programme regularly. Additionally, make sure to stick to your allocated time slot, as the session chairs will be enforcing this strictly.

  •  Invited speakers will have between 30-40 minutes. Please leave at least 5 mins for Q&A),
  •  Contributed presenters are given 18 minutes (15 mins + 3 mins Q&A).
We would kindly ask that all presenters visit the lecture theatre in the break before their session and introduce themselves to the session chair and to test their presentation.

The lecture theatres are equipped with the following audio-visual equipment/support: 

  • Projector
  • Screen
  • Clicker and laser pointer

Preparing your presentation:

  • As the presenting author, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material included within your presentation.
  • PDF, PowerPoint and Keynote are accepted.

Uploading your presentation and the on the day management:

  • All presentations should be supplied on a USB memory stick and pre-loaded onto the laptop located into the room. Presenters are discouraged from presenting from their own laptop. 
  • Slides need to be prepared in the 16:9 format to display well on the screens. 
  • The chair of the session will introduce each talk and then moderate all questions from the attendees.
