Oral Presentations


The conference programme is available to view, please make sure you are aware of the date and time of your talk. Please note: talk times may change right up until the day, please keep checking back to the programme for your latest presentation time. 

Preparing your presentation

  • Please ensure that you keep within your allocated time slot as these will be strictly enforced by the session chairs:
  • Founders Prize: 60 minutes (45 + 15 minutes for Q&A)
  • Invited Talks: 35 minutes (30 + 5 minutes for Q&A)
  • Contributed Oral Talks: 15 minutes (12 + 3 minutes for Q&A)
  • Flash Posters: 1 - 2 minutes
  • You, as the presenting author, are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material included within your presentation.
  • PDF and PowerPoint are accepted.
Uploading your presentation and the on the day management

  • Presenters are encouraged to bring their presentation to the conference on a memory stick and up-load to the laptop in the lecture theatre. Direct connection of personal laptops is allowed but not the preferred approach. Anyone bringing their own laptop will need to ensure its HDMI/VGA compatible or will need to bring an adapter. 
  • Screen resolution: Panasonic PT-EZ580L LCD projector, with 5400 ANSI lumens and a native resolution of WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels).4m wide by 2.5m high (4.7m diagonal) electric projection screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10
  • The chair of the session will introduce each talk and then moderate all questions from the attendees.

Prior to start the session:

  • Arrive at the conference room at least 5-10 minutes before the session starts.
  • Introduce yourself to the Session Chair.
  • Sit in the front row to facilitate a quick hand over between the speakers.

 During the Session: 

  • The chair of the session will introduce each talk and then moderate all questions from the attendees.
  • During your presentation, please adheres to the time limit. If you are overtime, the Session Chair will interrupt to conclude the presentation.
  • At the end of the presentation please provide succinct answers to the questions. If any questions require extended answer, please suggest that you continue discussion privately after the session.

 The lecture theatres are equipped with the following audio-visual equipment/support

  • Projector (4000lm)
  • 12ft Projection Screen
  • PC/Laptop
  • Lectern - 2 fixed Microphones
  • PA System
  • Clicker and laser pointer
