Talk title: Lanthanide-transition metal heterostructures
Gustav Bihlmayer received his Ph.D. from the
University of Vienna, Austria, where he studied chemistry and completed
postdoctoral studies in the field of ab initio calculations of solids and
surfaces. He is now a staff scientist at Jülich Research Centre, Germany, where
he uses and develops density-functional-theory-based methods to computationally
explore relativistic effects, in particular, noncollinear magnetic states in
low-dimensional systems and various topological states of matter.
