Talk title: Chiral Spin Textures: Stability, Readout, and All-Electrical Control
Anjan Soumyanarayanan is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Principal Scientist at the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), Singapore. He leads a team on Spin Technology for Electronic Devices (SpEED), which develops spintronic materials and devices and investigates their properties using microscopic, spectroscopic, and transport techniques.
His recent research efforts notably include the study of emergent spin-orbit phenomena and topology in real and reciprocal space. His team has developed materials to generate designer ambient spin textures, studied their thermodynamic and topological signatures, and established their all-electrical control in devices. He received the 2018 IEEE Magnetics Society Early Career Award and the 2018 Singapore Young Scientist Award for related efforts.
