Talk title: Spin-wave mediated mutual synchronization in spin Hall nano-oscillators
Akash Kumar is a cross-appointed researcher and assistant professor at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and Tohoku University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), India, in 2020, where he focused on spin-orbit torques in magnetic heterostructures. In August 2020, he joined the University of Gothenburg as a postdoctoral researcher and was promoted to a permanent researcher position in September 2024. Since April 2023, he has also held an assistant professorship at Tohoku University. His current research centers on the development of spin Hall nano-oscillators, with an emphasis on improving energy efficiency through enhanced spin and orbital torques, and optimizing magnetic materials to refine spectral properties. He also focuses on the mutual synchronization of these oscillators and their application in unconventional computing including neuromorphic computing and reservoir computing.
