Dr. David A Duncan joined Diamond Light Source in 2015 as a beamline scientist on beamline I09, which offers both hard and soft X-ray light concurrently on the same spot of a sample. He has previously held an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship (2012) on photocatalysis with organic semiconductors and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie intra-european fellowship (2015) on silicene at the E20 group of the Technical University of Munich under Prof. Johannes V. Barth and Dr. Francesco Allegretti. He achieved his PhD in quantitative structure determination of adsorbates on surfaces with Prof. D. Phil Woodruff at the University of Warwick in 2012. David’s current research activities have revolved around probing the adsorption structure of 2D materials and model single atom catalyst systems.
