Nick is the head of Nuclear Threat Reduction at AWE, which provides scientific and technical support on radiological and nuclear material to MoD and wider government partners, including the military and police. After obtaining a PhD in Nuclear Physics, he spent 12 years in academia as a research fellow before joining AWE. As a specialist in radiation detection, Nick worked closely with the Home Office on their border detection programme. He then moved into project management, leading a portfolio of technical projects which included the AWE Nuclear Forensics programme, eventually becoming the Programme Director for NTR.
