Eva Szeles


Ms Eva Szeles holds a PhD degree on Analytical Chemistry. She was working at the Hungarian Research Institute, the Centre for Energy Research 13 years long. She was the head of the Hungarian National Nuclear Forensics Laboratory and the IAEA Collaborating Centre for Nuclear Forensics at the Centre for Energy Research. Ms. Szeles was also active in the field of radiological crime scene management the last 5 years with development and training of a national procedure for RCSM in cooperation with the Hungarian Police.

Ms. Szeles stated to work at the IAEA in November 2020. Her assignments at the Nuclear Security Division are development and implementation of the programme of activities based on needs identified by States in Integrated Nuclear Security Support Plans (INSSP) and assisting States in strengthening their national framework and capabilities for managing radiological crime scenes, collecting evidence for use in subsequent legal proceedings, and undertaking nuclear forensics examinations to support relevant investigations.
