Matthew Watson

Matthew is a Senior Beamline Scientist at the I05 beamline at Diamond Light Source, where he is responsible for delivering user beamtimes on the micro/nano-ARPES end station, which he also maintains and develops. Through his work at Diamond, as well as a previous postdoc in the University of St Andrews, he has led or been involved in many ARPES papers on numerous quantum materials that have, in various ways, pushed the ARPES data quality to the limit to achieve new physical insights. His research interests include 2D materials (and 2D magnets specifically), charge density wave systems, and superconductivity.
