Talk title: Studying low-dimensional materials, from fundamental research to real world impact

Chris Howard is a professor of materials physics at UCL. His lab creates and investigates novel nanostructured and low-dimensional materials that have interesting and useful properties. He also focuses on understanding and improving mechanisms for achieving real-world impact from scientific research, which is critically important for urgently required decarbonisation of energy and industry. To this end, he co-founded Prosemino, a clean-tech venture builder that creates, supports, and builds early-stage companies in this area.
