Professor Ataç İmamoğlu

Atac Imamoglu obtained his PhD from Stanford University in 1991: his dissertation was based on the first prediction and experimental observation of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). In 1993 he joined UC Santa Barbara as an assistant professor and was promoted to full professorship in 1991. In 2002, he joined the Department of Physics of ETH Zurich. His research focuses on using quantum optical measurement techniques for investigating strongly correlated electrons in two dimensional semiconductors.
