Yolan Ankaine is a Quantum Engineering PhD student at the Centre for Doctoral Training, University of Bristol. She earned her MSci in Theoretical Physics from the University of Bristol, graduating with first-class honors in 2023. Ankaine is passionate about quantum technologies and aims to make significant contributions to the field. Her research interests include exploring and harnessing quantum platforms with the potential to deliver quantum advantage in applications such as sensing and communication. Ankaine has hands-on experience in semiconductor quantum dot research through a summer internship at the quantum start-up Aegiq and an extended project during her PhD. These experiences have equipped her with skills in bulk optics, photonic technologies, and spectroscopy analysis.Ankaine aspires to collaborate internationally, particularly with Japan, to advance quantum systems beyond their current capabilities.
