Dr Richard Taylor, CTO, Vector PhotonicsDr Richard Taylor received a Ph.D. degree from The University of Sheffield in 2014 and became a chartered engineer in 2020. During their Ph.D. Dr Taylor was one of the lead inventors on the patents which form the backbone of the technology to be exploited. For this work they were awarded an IET postgraduate award, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) summer fellowship, JSPS post-doctoral fellowship, and he is an inventor on 2 granted patents and 4 patent applications. Dr Taylor was a Royal Academy of Engineering enterprise fellow; they were the entrepreneurial lead on for an ICURe project, where they discussed the technology with >100 companies. Dr Taylor was a fellow at the quantum technology enterprise centre in Bristol (2020). Dr Taylor was the recipient of the IET Sir Henry Royce Medal and the RAEng Collin Campbel Mitchell award for outstanding contribution to a field of engineering. In addition to this, Dr Taylor was the chair of the IET Young Members Committee for South Yorkshire and received a level 5 award in leadership and management as well as a PRINCE2 foundation. Dr Taylor is currently the CTO of Vector Photonics, where he has lead over £5M worth of projects.
