Anh Khoa Doan is the co-Director of the AIFluids lab and an Assistant Professor in AI for Fluid Mechanics at TU Delft, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. He holds a dual MSc in Aerospace Engineering from the ISAE-SUPAERO and Université Libre de Bruxelles, and obtained a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2018. He has been a visiting researcher at the Sandia National Laboratories and Stanford Centre for Turbulence Research and has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the TU Munich - Institute for Advanced Study.
He is also a working group leader within the CYPHER COST Action on hybrid physics-based/data-driven modelling. His group works on the development of scientific machine learning techniques for the prediction and control of extreme events in turbulence and turbulent reacting flows. In 2024, he was awarded an ERC Starting Grant for his project CONTEXT to further pursue this topic.
