Joining Instructions for Oral Presenters 


We are delighted that you will be presenting at the PAPS26 ConferenceThis guide has been designed to provide clear, practical instructions to help you prepare an engaging, professional talk and ensure your presentation runs seamlessly on the day. If you have any questions, please contact fatima.kanu@iop.org 

Please note that the programme is subject to change in the lead-up to the event, so we encourage you to check the programme regularly for updates.

We also ask all presenters to adhere strictly to their allocated presentation time, as session chairs will be responsible for keeping sessions on schedule.

Presentation Times

  • Invited speakers: 50 minutes
  • Contributed speakers: 15 minutes 

We kindly ask all presenters to visit their lecture theatre during the break immediately before their session to introduce themselves to the session chair and test their presentation.

Preparing Your Presentation

As the presenting author, you are responsible for ensuring that all content included in your presentation complies with copyright requirements and that you have obtained any necessary permissions.

Please note:

  • PowerPoint, PDF and Keynote formats are accepted.
  • Questions from the audience will be managed by the session chair.
  • Slides should be prepared in 16:9 widescreen format to ensure optimal display on venue screens.

Presentation Materials and Technical Requirements

  • Presentations should be supplied on a USB memory stick and uploaded to the room laptop before your session.
  • If you prefer to present from your own device, please ensure it has an HDMI connection or that you bring the appropriate adapter.
  • Accepted file formats for presentation upload are:
    • PowerPoint (.pptx)
    • PDF (.pdf)
  • The session chair will introduce your presentation and moderate the Q&A session.

The lecture theatres are equipped with:

  • Projector
  • Screen
  • Microphones
  • Presentation clicker and laser pointer

On Arrival

Please ensure you visit your assigned lecture theatre before your session begins to:

  • Meet the session chair
  • Test your presentation
  • Confirm that any audio, video or animations are working correctly
