Dr Mansie Iyer

Dr. Mansie Iyer has worked as a scientist, educator and non-proliferation specialist. She earned her PhD in Physics and has held an ever-increasing range of responsibilities in nuclear forensics, emergency response, and testing and evaluation of radiation detection instrumentation. A subject matter expert with NNSA's Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (NSDD) program, Dr. Iyer currently supports forensics and sustainability teams with scientific, policy, and technical expertise. A portion of Dr. Iyer’ s NSDD activities include; leading the development and delivery of novel, sophisticated exercises in detection and forensics and in designing and managing assistance in forensics collaborations with various countries and is also the lead for NSDD’s Megaports for 4 countries in Latin America. Dr. Iyer also recently, as part of a team, received recognition of the Green Border Security Initiative with a Secretary of Energy Achievement Award for their outstanding contributions to the NNSA mission and national security.
