Instructions for oral and poster presentations


Oral presentations

Please note: talk times may change right up until the day, please keep checking back to the programme for your latest presentation time. 

Preparing your presentation

  • Please ensure that you keep within your allocated time slot as these will be strictly enforced by the session chairs:
    • Invited speaker: Duration 30 mins (25 mins talk + 5 mins Q&A)
    • Contributed oral talk: Duration 15 mins (12 mins talk + 3 mins Q&A)
  • You, as the presenting author, are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material included within your presentation.
  • PDF and PowerPoint are accepted.
Uploading your presentation and the on the day management

  • Bring your presentation on a memory stick and up-load it to the room computer during the break preceding your talk. We recommend that you check for correct presentation of your files - in particular if they contain videos or other animated items.
  • The chair of the session will introduce each talk and then moderate all questions from the attendees.

Poster presentations

  • Poster size: A0 format (width: 841 mm x Height: 1189 mm) (Portrait).
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material. 
  • Posters Schedule: Posters should be displayed before the morning break and removed after the afternoon break. Any posters left on the boards after this time will be discarded.
  • Poster presentations: during the morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. Three best poster prizes are available.  
  • During the poster sessions, you, as the presenter, should stand next to your poster to facilitate discussion on your work and to answer any questions.
  • Fixing material will be supplied which is adequate for laminated posters. Fabric posters may be harder to mount.

We are inviting you for a 1-minute flash talk, which will be scheduled before the lunch break. Please prepare one slide and transfer it to the session computer during the morning coffee break.
