Rosse Medal


The Institute of Physics awards the Rosse Medal each year to the winner of the postgraduate science communication competition. The medal commemorates the 3rd Earl of Rosse (Sir William Parsons KP, FRS) and his contributions to science.

Postgraduate students are invited to submit posters communicating any research area in physics to be considered for inclusion at the meeting. The posters should be prepared for presentation and communication to a general physics audience.

All entrants should bring a poster (max. size A1) and a short power point presentation with them.

Process:
1st round – Poster judging (morning)
2nd round – Top 5 entries present a 5-10 minute talk (afternoon)
Winner announcement and medal presentation will take place at the conference dinner (evening)

The Rosse Medal winner will represent Ireland at the next 3 Minute Wonder Final which will take place in London in 2024.

Abstract Deadline – 4pm Thursday 2nd March (requested details – author, title, abstract max. 350 words)
