Teuta Pilizota

Teuta is a Professor of Biophysics at the University of Edinburgh. She majored in theoretical physics at the University of Zagreb and completed her PhD in experimental biophysics at the University of Oxford, studying rotary molecular motors, namely F1Fo-ATP synthase, and bacterial flagellar motor. During her postdoctoral work at Princeton University, her research interest focused on E. coli’s response to osmotic shocks. Her group is now bringing these aspects together to study bacterial free energy maintenance and electrophysiology, in the  context of, among other, bacterial infections.
