Dylan Owen


Dylan holds an interdisciplinary chair position between the Institute of Immunology, the School of Mathematics and the Centre of Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE) at the University of Birmingham and is a Fellow of the Alan Turing Institute. His group has three research topics: 1) the development of analysis methods for super-resolution microscopy data, in particular single-molecule localisation microscopy (SMLM). 2) Studying the composition, organisation and function of the mammalian cell plasma membrane and 3) Investigating the principles regulating the activation of T cells during an immune response. He completed his degree in Physics and PhD in biomedical imaging at Imperial College with Profs. Paul French and Tony Magee, a postdoc with Prof. Katharina Gaus in Sydney and from 2013-2019 was a group leader at King’s College London.
