Alice Pyne

Alice and her group are motivated by determining how variations in DNA structure affect fundamental biological processes. They develop high resolution atomic force microscopy (AFM) methods to probe these structural variations at the single molecule level with sub-molecular resolution. They quantify the effect of DNA structure on its interactions via their open quantitative image analysis pipeline TopoStats which combines molecular identification and conformational analysis into a single tool. As a group they are motivated by determining biomolecular mechanisms of action, with a long-term view to improved development of therapeutics.
