Jo Bartlett leads the Millikelvin Cooling and Instrumentation group at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory (University College London). Her research involves the development of novel Adiabatic Demagnetisation Refrigerators (ADRs), in particular a tandem Continuous ADR, called the millikelvin cryocooler (mKCC). Her research, which focusses on miniaturisation of ADR technology for both ground and space-based applications, won the Best Paper Award 2015 from the journal Cryogenics. Earlier this year she featured in a segment on Women in Cryogenics and Superconductivity in the CSA’s Cold Facts magazine.
