The series of five talks in the autumn of 2023 will discuss the progression of physics from the classical world in the 19th century, the understanding of spectral analysis leading to the Bohr model, how Boltzmann's development of thermodynamics influenced Planck, the insights that de Broglie developed, and a consideration of how physicists developed and responded to these major changes.
