Dr John T Bruun (CPhys) is a Climate Physicist and Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Exeter. He has a background in Theoretical Physics (from Lancaster University) and is a science communicator and diversity champion. John is interested in data analytics and how we can better explain physical and wave-mechanical phenomena in the climate system. This includes identifying chaotic and regular features of the climate system and its impact on the biosphere. He will guide and share his over twenty years’ experience on coding in this session on all aspects of data science – obtaining data, what to code, what to analyse and how to derive useful physical based insight. John is also a professional member of the UK and Ireland's Institute of Physics (IOP) as Chair for the Physics Communicators Group and co-opted to the Women in Physics Group.
