Catalin Popescu is working as scientist staff at Alba synchrotron where he is in charge of the high-pressure program (X-ray diffraction powder beamline at extreme conditions and laboratory). Catalin has more than 10 years experience in synchrotron instrumentation, training academic users in equipment operation, data acquisition and technical assessment for internal and external scientific projects.

Catalin's research interest focus on phase transformation and phase diagrams conducted on different types of materials, from mineral to advanced functional materials.
