Oral Presentation Instructions


The conference programme is available on the conference website. Please make sure you are aware of the date and time of your talk.

Important: Talk times may change up until the day of the event, so please check the programme regularly for the latest updates.

Preparing your presentation

  • Please ensure that you keep within your allocated time slot as these will be strictly enforced by the session chairs:
    • Invited speaker: Duration 30 mins (25 mins talk + 5 mins Q&A)
    • Contributed oral talk: Duration 12 mins (10 mins talk + 2 mins Q&A)
    • Flash presentations: Duration 2 mins talk (2 slides per speaker)
  • You, as the presenting author, are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material included within your presentation.
  • PDF and PowerPoint are accepted.

Uploading your presentation and the on the day management

  • Bring your presentation on a USB memory stick and upload it to the room laptop no later than the break preceding your talk.
  • If your presentation was created on a Mac, please check that it displays correctly after upload, as some elements may not transfer reliably. If issues occur, you may present from your own Mac. In that case, please bring your own HDMI adaptor to connect to an HDMI display.
  • We recommend that you check for correct presentation of your files - in particular if they contain videos or other animated items.
  • The chair of the session will introduce each talk and then moderate all questions from the attendees.

 The session room is equipped with the following audio-visual equipment/support

  • Room laptop
  • Projector
  • Screen
  • Lectern (fixed) and lapel mic. 
  • Wireless microphone
