Focus issue on Materials for Sustainable Technologies

A joint collection between two Gold Open Access IOPP journals:  JPhys Materials and Sustainability Science and Technology. Both journals are multidisciplinary, welcoming contributions from authors from a range of disciplines and backgrounds, as well as collaborative work which spans different scientific communities.

Authors may choose which journal to submit to, based on which scope best fits their research.

Sustainability Science and Technology has an APC waiver in place for invited articles only, submitted by 31^st December 2026.

Otherwise, there is an APC payable for both journals, unless the authors have a discount or Transformative Agreement.

The Focus Collection welcomes submissions on advanced materials, energy technologies and circular economy solutions, with its scope spanning the design, characterisation and application of materials for sustainable technologies. Original research, reviews and perspectives are all welcome to the collection.
