Dr Richard Brock
Richard Brock is a Senior Lecturer in Science Education at King’s College London. After working as a secondary physics teacher, he now lectures on the science PGCE, MA programmes and supervises doctoral students. His research focuses on learning in science education, in particular the nature of scientific understanding and fine-grained models of conceptual change.

Martyn Crawshaw
Martyn Crawshaw is an IOP Scotland Physics Coach and an Education Scotland Associate. Until recently he was the Faculty Head of Science in Millburn Academy, Inverness, and is keen on the use of practical work, modelling and effective use of simulations to promote learning in physics.

Emma Meehan
Emma Meehan is Head of Facilities, Operations and Outreach at the Boulby Underground Laboratory, operated by the Science and Technology Facilities Council in partnership with mine operators ICL. She began her career at Boulby in a cleaning role before moving into science support and technical operations, playing a key role in the development of the Boulby Underground Germanium Suite (BUGS) and the laboratory’s expansion. Emma is passionate about inclusive leadership, technician development, and widening access to STEM careers. She has spoken widely about her unconventional pathway into science and was awarded the Institute of Physics Technician Award in recognition of her contribution to the field.
Ian Menzies
Ian Menzies is a Physics and Mathematics teacher by profession and taught in both Scotland and Africa. Following a period of time working in international aid and development, he joined Learning and Teaching Scotland, and then subsequently Education Scotland. In his role as Senior Education Officer at Education Scotland, he has led on the 3-18 Sciences Curriculum, STEM education, Learning for Sustainability, and outdoor learning for over 14 years. He and his team have responsibility for facilitating the curriculum improvement cycle process for the 3-18 sciences curriculum and continue to support a wide range of other improvement activity.
