The Institute of Physics Southwest Branch is proud to announce that this year's annual Festival of Physics will be held at the University of Plymouth. We have been running the Festival of Physics in the southwest for over a decade.

We invite you to join us for this family friendly event, offering science demonstrations, talks from world leading scientists, a virtual reality show, and much more to be confirmed. 

The main theme of the Festival will be Quantum. This is to celebrate the 2025 International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) that recognizes 100 years since the initial development of quantum mechanics.

As part of the Festival there will be the South West heat of the Three Minute Wonder competition. Three Minute Wonder is the IOP's UK and Ireland-wide science communication competition. It challenges researchers or project team members to explain their work to the public in just three minutes.
