Joining Instructions


Oral Presentations

The conference programme is available to view on the website, please make sure you are aware of the date and time of your talk when this information is available. Please note: talk times may change right up until the day, please keep checking back to the programme for your latest presentation time. 

Preparing your presentation

  • Please ensure that you keep within your allocated time slot as these will be strictly enforced by the session chairs:
    • Keynote speaker: 45 mins (35 mins talk + 10 mins Q&A)
    • Contributed oral talk: 20 mins (15 mins talk + 5 mins Q&A)
  • You, as the presenting author, are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material included within your presentation.
  • PDF and PowerPoint are accepted. Apple Mac programmes can not be accommodated. 
Uploading your presentation and the on the day management

  • Your are welcome to present from your own laptop or bring your presentation on a memory stick and up-load it to the room computer in the break preceding your talk. 
  • We recommend that you check for correct presentation of your files - in particular if they contain videos or other animated items.
  • It's recommended that Apple Mac users bring their own adapter to be able to connect to the HDMI connector and they use their own equipment.

Poster Presentations

Your poster will be available to view during the entire conference. The designated poster sessions are during the afternoon breaks on both days.

Preparing your poster

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary copyright / permissions for all material. 
  • Posters should be prepared no larger than A0 in size (84.1 x 118.9 cm / 33.1 x 46.8 inches), in a portrait format. 

On the day management

  • All posters are to be put on the allocated poster board by lunchtime on Thursday and removed by 5:45pm on Friday. Any posters left on the boards after this time will be disposed of.
  • During the poster session, you, as the presenter, should stand next to your poster to facilitate discussion on your work and to answer any questions.
  • Your poster number is available on the programme page, alternatively, on arrival at the Symposium make your way to the registration desk where you will be notified.
  • Fixing material will be supplied which is adequate for laminated posters. Fabric posters may be harder to mount.
