Professor Andrew Hodgson

Andrew graduated from Cambridge in Natural Sciences before doing a PhD on Laser spectroscopy and gas kinetics at Queen Mary College, London University. This was followed by an RA position at Nottingham University to investigate molecular photodissociation dynamics in small molecules using laser pump-probe techniques, before gaining an EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. He then moved to a Lectureship at Liverpool University where he has studied surface reaction dynamics and the interaction of solid surfaces with water, particularly how water films structure themselves in contact with different metal surfaces and the formation of mixed OH/water structures.
