Julie B. Staunton, University of Warwick

Julie B. Staunton is a professor in the Physics Department at the University of Warwick, U.K. Her research expertise in ab initio electronic structure theory is directed at field- and temperature-dependent magnetic properties and alloy phase stability. She works closely with experimental groups internationally and in the U.K.,  heads Warwick’s Theoretical Physics Group and is a founding member of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Modelling of Heterogeneous Systems (HetSys). After completing a PhD at Bristol University, Julie Staunton held a post-doctoral research fellowship in Peter Wohlfarth’s group at Imperial College in 1984 before moving to a lectureship at Warwick where she became a full professor in 2001.
