Oto-obong Inyang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, at Durham University. Her research is centred around Nano-magnetism and Spintronics. She used depth-sensitive techniques such as neutron reflectivity, resonance x-ray reflectivity and secondary mass ion spectroscopy(SIMS) to explore bulk and interfacial properties of magnetic heterostructures. Her core interest has been in antiferromagnetically coupled systems (rare-earth: transition metal (RE:TM) alloys) providing insightful information that informs future technological applications.
Furthermore, she is extremely passionate about science communication and actively engages in outreach activities to promote scientific knowledge. As an educator, she is also interested in discipline-based educational research (DBER) in STEM with a keen interest in student engagement and research skills development.
