Renald Schaub

My research focuses on carbon-based materials, molecular electronics, and catalysis, with the overarching goal of understanding surface chemistry and physics to enable the rational design of functional nanoscale materials. I investigate the intrinsic properties of materials to elucidate structure-function relationships, a cornerstone of my research. A key tool in my work is scanning probe microscopy, which provides atom- and time-resolved insights into surface phenomena. By refining atomic-scale interrogation techniques, I explore surface nano-engineering for catalysis, nanoelectronics, and molecular architectures.
