Registration Times

On arrival at the conference, please collect your badge from the registration desk located in the reception foyer. The registration desk will be staffed by the Institute of Physics and open during the following hours:

Monday 29 September09:30 - 17:35                                          
Tuesday 30 September09:00 - 17:30

Talks and Posters

  • All talks and posters will take place in the Seminar Rooms on the third floor. Presenters should refer to the instructions sent to their emails.

Please refer to the programme  for the schedule of talk and the list of poster presentations.

Preparing your presentation

Please rehearse your presentation to ensure you are keeping within the time allocated for your talk. The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that they have obtained the necessary copyright / permissions for all material included within the presentation.PDF and PowerPoint are accepted.

Uploading your presentation and the on the day management

Presenters are encouraged to bring their presentation to the conference on a memory stick and up-load to the laptop in the seminar rooms. The chair of the session will introduce each talk and then moderate all questions from the attendees.

Catering

Catering will be held at set times during the programme. If you indicated when registering for the conference that you have a specific dietary requirement or allergy, please make yourself known to the catering team.

Social Programme

We have a welcome drinks reception on Sunday 28 September, held at the The Scottish Stores from 6-9pm.

Environmental Policy

The organisers and the organising committee recognise their environmental responsibilities and are committed to ensuring the event is as sustainable as possible. To achieve this, we have: 

  • Minimised waste by reducing consumption. 
  • Effective waste management and recycling points
  • Stopped waste by using upcycled, recycled, or reusable items
  • Complied with all applicable environmental legislation and relevant codes of practice.
Health and Safety

Your safety at the event is our top priority and as such we plan for all eventualities and emergencies. At least one member of the on-site team is a trained first aider and will be able to assist should you have a medical issue. 

Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct, which sets out the behaviour expected at all IOP events. You can refer to the Code of Conduct at www.iop.org/code-conduct
