Rajesh Veeraraghavan



Shri Rajesh Veeraraghavan is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and began his career in Nuclear Field in the year 1990. He is presently in the Board of Directors of NPCIL as Director (Technical) and is recognised as Outstanding Scientist of the Department of Atomic Energy.

Shri Rajesh has three decades experience in implementation of India’s Nuclear Power Program. He has played key roles in setting up of 220 MW, 540 MW and 700 MW indigenous Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWR) in different parts of India. In addition, he was also involved in setting up of 1000 MW Pressurised Water Reactors (PWR). He has played a key role in identifying different Systems Structures and Components (SSC’s) for progressive localisation in the PWR expansion program. After working in different project sites at various capacities, in year 2016 he formed and headed the indigenous procurement group for Pressurised Water Reactors. In June 2023, he has been appointed as Director(Technical) in the Board of Directors of NPCIL.
