Dr Stephanie Yardley

Since completing a PhD in Solar Physics at UCL’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory (UCL/MSSL) in 2016 and postdoctoral positions at UCL/MSSL and the University of St Andrews, Stephanie is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Heliospheric Physics at the University of Reading. Her research interests focus on the origins of solar energetic particles and the slow solar wind, along with space weather forecasting. Other interests also include the formation and evolution of solar eruptions known as coronal mass ejections, which can drive shocks, that accelerate solar energetic particles.

Alongside her research she is actively involved in public engagement, media and outreach activities, which includes giving talks, interviews, demonstrations and space related activities to various audiences ranging from school students to the general public. She is also a Guest Lecturer and Resident Astronomer for various cruiselines.
