Emma Ford, Coaching4careers, UK

Emma works as an independent coach and facilitator in the area of personal, leadership and career development. Prior to this she worked in the Energy Industry for 16 years, latterly managing Graduate Selection in Europe for a multinational organisation, the tools and processes she developed were shared as best practice for experienced and MBA hire globally.

She has developed and delivered leadership and career management programmes and experiential skills workshops including team working, networking, presentations, careers, leadership of self and others. She coaches and works with globally based clients who work across the sectors. Her work includes designing and delivering workshops for PhD scientists at the Helmholtz Association in Germany.


Charlotte Griffiths, University Hospital Southampton, UK

Charlotte Griffiths is a newly qualified Radiotherapy Clinical Scientist working for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. She completed her undergraduate Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology MPhys degree with University of Portsmouth and post graduate Medical Physics MSc with University of Surrey before embarking on the STP training. The STP training consisted of work-based learning at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust as well as academic learning, completing a Clinical Science (Medical Physics) MSc with King’s College London.

Charlotte feels that working in Radiotherapy physics is an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling job as she knows that her work has a tangible, positive impact for patients. Radiotherapy Physics utilises concepts covered in many undergraduate Physics degrees such as particle interactions, detectors and radiation in a practical way.
