Stefan van Waasen is director and head of the Peter Grünberg Institute - Integrated Computing Architectures (ICA) at Forschungszentrum Jülich for almost 15 years and Professor at University of Duisburg-Essen. The institute is specialized on systems engineering, CMOS-based chip development, and systems integration for future computing paradigms with focus on Neuromorphic and Quantum computing. He is educated as an electrical engineer and has originally an industrial background on semiconductor solutions for wireless and mobile phone applications (3G/2G, Bluetooth, GPS) from more than one decade at Infineon Technologies. His special expertise in the fields are highly integrated CMOS System-on-Chip architectures and designs
