About the Event

This one-day international workshop and evening reception will bring together researchers, engineers, and industry leaders at the forefront of silicon-based quantum technologies. Through invited and contributed talks and a poster session, Silicon QIP 2025 will provide a focused forum to explore key advances and challenges in building scalable quantum information processors.

Programme Themes

As spin qubit processors continue to mature in terms of the qubit count, new fabrication techniques and material innovations are emerging to support this growth. At the same time, the stringent fidelity requirements for one- and two-qubit gate operations place strict demands on materials quality, fabrication processes, and precision control of qubits.

In parallel, the field is increasingly demonstrating quantum information processing and algorithms on small-scale spin qubit processors. These developments mark an important shift: from component-level to system-level performance, where running useful quantum algorithms becomes a central objective.

To reflect these trends, the workshop is structured around four key technical sessions: Qubit Technology, Architecture and Scalability, Cryo-CMOS Electronics and Quantum Applications with Spin Qubits, with each of the sessions representing a critical layer in the silicon quantum stack. This structure is designed to highlight how coordinated progress across device, control, and architectural levels is required to enable the advancement of scalable quantum computing.

The event will have a strong full-stack perspective and will feature four technical themes for each of the sessions:

  • Qubit Technology – Design, fabrication, and performance of spin and charge qubits

  • Cryo-CMOS Electronics – Low-temperature control electronics and classical-quantum interfacing

  • Scalability and Architectures – Multi-qubit control, integration strategies, increasing qubit connectivity

  • Quantum Applications with Spin Qubits – Algorithms, error correction, and use-case-driven development. Progress for spin qubits.

Why Silicon QIP?

The silicon qubit platform is rapidly evolving. Improvements in qubit coherence, fidelities, and two-qubit gate operations are pushing the field toward scalable architectures. Advances in spin–photon coupling, cryogenic control electronics, and emerging platforms like germanium are creating new opportunities for device integration and hybrid computing.

As the community expands, so does the synergy between academic innovation and industrial engineering – a dynamic that this event is designed to reflect and accelerate.
