Time: 14:00 - 15:00 GMT
Location: Online

This session is for retired physicists who want to stay connected, informed, and confident in how they engage with today’s digital world.

You’ll leave able to make practical choices about how (and whether) to use social media and AI - in ways that support your interests, your expertise, and your independence.

The pace of change in AI and digital communication is accelerating quickly, and many of us are deciding what role we want these tools to play in our lives - right now.

Who you’ll meet:

  • Fellow retired physicists navigating similar questions
  • Mark Wrigely (Chair of our retired member network committee), leading the discussion
  • An AI specialist from IOP Publishing, sharing real insights and use cases

While this event is aimed primarily at retired physicists, everyone is very welcome to attend as part of our commitment to inclusivity.

IOP members can attend free of charge, while non-members are welcome to attend for just £5.

Please register online by 12:00 on 10 November 2026. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing the link to join the Zoom Meeting.
