Abstract:
Single photon sources are a vital component for numerous quantum technologies, with semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) being an ideal candidate of use. These QDs can be epitaxially grown using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) or metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE). However, scaling the growth process while still producing QDs with ideal properties, remains a challenge. In this talk, I’ll discuss my experiences of PhD life while working towards a solution to this problem, using a technique called site-controlled quantum dot growth.
