Quantum Bridge: Bridging the UK and Japan in Semiconductor, Quantum, and Photonics Collaboration" Join us in shaping the future landscape in semiconductor, quantum technologies together in Japan and the UK. We commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1994 Japan-UK Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement and reflect on the progress made since. In the wake of the announcement of the UK-Japan semiconductor partnership at the G7 summit last year, we convene this workshop to unite the UK community, both existing collaborators and potential partners, in the quantum, semiconductors, and photonics fields. Our goal is twofold: firstly, to "map the gap" by identifying and leveraging the complementary strengths of both nations in these crucial areas of research and development. Secondly, we aim to tackle the socio-technical barriers hindering effective collaboration, from regulatory hurdles to cultural differences. Through interactive discussions and collaborative sessions, we will explore avenues for enhanced cooperation, paving the way to sustaining, growing, and renewing existing and nascent collaborations.
