Join the Polymer Physics Group for the online biennial Graduate Symposium, a virtual event tailored for PhD students and early-career researchers exploring the latest advances in polymer science. The symposium will also interest industry representatives working in soft matter formulation and characterisation.
Taking place over two afternoons, October 1 and 2 (13:00–16:00 BST), this event is open to everyone and free to IOP members (£15 for student non-members). It features accessible talks from world-leading researchers, designed to inspire and inform a graduate-level audience. We are pleased to welcome Carlos Lopez (Penn State), who will present cutting-edge research on the rheology of polyelectrolyte systems; Suzanne Fielding (Durham University) and Daniel Read (University of Leeds), who will offer theoretical insights into polymer dynamics and flow behaviour; and Clair McIlroy (University of Leeds), who will explore the role of polymer physics in advanced manufacturing and 3D printing. Their talks will reflect the breadth and depth of polymer physics, from fundamental theory to industrial applications.
In addition to keynote presentations, the symposium will include 10-minute contributed oral talks from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. We invite and encourage contributions from attendees who wish to share their own research and be part of the discussion. Whether you are just beginning your research journey or seeking broader perspectives in polymer science, this online symposium offers an engaging and inclusive space to learn, reflect, and connect with the wider polymer physics community. We look forward to seeing you there.
