We would like to invite you to engage in the IOP’s flagship Physics Powering the Green Economy Project to hear your thoughts on how we move towards a low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive economy.
The Institute of Physics is shaping the debate on matters of importance to the physics community in order to influence policy makers and drive community actions to deliver short- and medium-term impact projects, and Physics Powering the Green Economy is one of the IOP’s largest impact projects for 2023.
As part of this project, we are hosting an in-person 1-day workshop at the IOP office near Kings Cross on 19 April 2023, online roundtables on 26 May 2023, as well as an online survey about technologies related to the green economy.
Physics Powering the Green Economy Workshop & Roundtables
The workshop and online roundtables aim to bring together experts, including IOP members, physicists, researchers, innovators, engineers and business leaders, to share recent advances and discuss the opportunities and challenges around different green technology areas to help shape one of the project’s foundational outputs: a report titled “Physics Powering the Green Economy”. The report will be launched at a parliamentary event on 30 October and will be the launchpad for further activities to influence national strategies.
Example technology areas include, but are not limited to:
Please register for the workshop and/or roundtables to get involved and add your voice to the conversation as we shape the physics debate.
On the day of the in-person workshop, tea/coffee and lunch will be provided.
