Carinna Parraman’s understanding of 2.5D printing has evolved through her training in fine art printmaking. She is Professor of Design, Colour and Print and Director at the Centre for Fine Print Research, the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. She has an in‐depth knowledge of traditional colour mixing, colour printing and historical photomechanical printing processes. She collaborates with many different sectors, including industry, heritage and fine art.
As Director, she is leading an Expanding Excellence project (E3), funded by Research England, exploring the future of printing and fabrication, new ways of thinking and working, alongside traditional methods of making. The fund enables Carinna and the team to re-envision the Centre’s direction, its long-term strategy and work with the industry to undertake cutting-edge research.
